During the spring of 2012, my fiance Josh and I made the decision take our lives in a different direction. Over a few month period, we quit our cushy jobs in Boston, bought a house in Vermont without knowing a soul in the state, and moved to the country to see if we could find a more peaceful, sustainable life.
I had often dreamed of buying a fixer-upper house with endless projects to work on and studio space to run my online vintage shop in. Josh wanted to try his hand at growing food, raising animals, and living closer to the land. When we found the half forest, half meadow 10 acre lot with a little red farm house and separate barn workshop we looked at each other and said, "Well, should we just go for it?"
This blog follows our journey as we rehab our house, grown our own food, hit the flea markets, and DIY-it as often as possible. Some days are hard, and we are still learning to navigate this new life, but we find peace knowing that although we are sometimes afraid, we have the courage to take this journey anyway.
